Ss. Simon & Jude, Cockshutt
After a long summer break, it was good to be worshipping again in Ss. Simon & Jude. Rev. John Darch (ret’d) led our service on 10th September, and it was pleasing to see so many familiar faces, clearly refreshed and rested at the end of the summer (and, as it happens, a very hot week!). Father Paul Barrow (ret’d) led our service on the 24th September. Our heartfelt thanks to them both (and all the retired Priests who are helping during the interregnum).
Doug, our organist, sadly remains unwell and we continue to offer up our prayers for his recovery. In the meantime, we are using a CD and we ask for your patience as we once again familiarise ourselves with the rather old technology!
On 15th September, the country quietly reflected on the 83rd Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. In quiet remembrance and gratitude for those who fell and fought for our freedoms, we placed simple September flowers, Michaelmas Daisies, on our WW2 memorial.
Please remember, Ss Simon & Jude is for everyone, and is always open; if you would like to attend any of our services, you will be made very welcome.
Best Wishes,
Cathy and John
