All people are like grass and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. (Peter 1:23-24)
Ss Simon & Jude, Cockshutt
A small group of volunteers works tirelessly throughout the year enhancing our Church with fresh flowers which, with their understatement and informality, reflect the peace and tranquillity of our rural setting.
During Lent and Advent there are no flowers in Church, but for Remembrance Day and the major festivals of Easter, Harvest and Christmas when more extensive decoration is required, we welcome additional help!
The flowers in the Sanctuary are often sponsored in commemoration of a loved one or as a celebration of a special event.
St. John the Evangelist, Lyneal and Colemere
Our Church is enhanced by beautiful floral arrangements at appropriate times of the Church calendar. These are all done by members of the Church family.
Ss Raphael & Isidore, Petton
A group of volunteers, organised on a rota, is responsible for arranging and looking after the flowers in the Church.
Although we do not have flowers in Church during Lent and Advent, when the Church does require more decoration for events such as Easter, Harvest and Christmas we all get together and share the work (fortified by tea and cake).
St. Michael & All Angels, Welshampton
Softly growing in the garden of life,
Are beautiful flowers from God,
Lovingly planted inside our hearts,
Lining the pathways we trod.
