Originally dedicated to St Helena, the Church of Ss Simon & Jude is testament to the worship of Christianity on this site for over 500 years, in defiance of the Reformation, social upheaval and war. Rebuilt in the late 18th century its facade is without fanfare, its interior modest and unadorned. Far from majestic, sitting in the tranquility of the Churchyard, Ss Simon & Jude remains the focus of Christian faith in Cockshutt, offering peace and refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is open every day for locals and visitors alike.
