Warden’s Update from Petton – April, 2023

Dear All,

I wanted to start by sincerely thanking all those who joined Mary and I on the mound on Easter Day, just a beautiful morning to celebrate such an important day! Everyone was in fantastic voice. I sent our video message to Maureen just as she sent us a lovely Easter message with her love.

We have yet another Royal event to celebrate very soon, tinged with sadness in some respects but also with hope as we see the new head of the Church of England crowned. I hope very much that you will join us at Petton for a celebration on the evening of the 6th May where we will celebrate with hotdogs and a pop up pub.

In an act of celebration we will be lighting the beacon in honour of the King’s Coronation. It would be lovely to see our community come together to wish King Charles III well.

Lastly, the Petton team are working hard in our churchyard in the hope that we can retain our Gold award in the Churchyard Scheme this year. This year sees the addition of a hedgehog house for those winter months kindly donated by Mr Alf Johnson. If anyone has a suggestion for a name for this new addition do let me know!

Sending love and best wishes
