The Reredos is a fine piece of Christian art made by Farmer of London who made the Prince Albert Memorial.
The two outer panels show the names of Christ in Latin and Greek representing Western and Eastern Christendom. They are brought together in the central panel which is a beautiful alabaster carving of The Crucifixion with Mary weeping at the foot of the Cross and the other women followers with her. The triumphal empty Cross surmounting it proclaims the Easter message. This is decorated with a mosaic of Italian and Greek marble uniting the East and West at the central point of the Christian Faith.
One of the most beautiful features is the exquisitely carved cornice of Passion Flowers.
