Why we don’t have flowers in Church during Lent.

The Holy season of Lent is a time of prayer and preparation for Easter. During this time our churches are marked by their simplicity; flowers and decorations are stripped away, whilst the altar is draped in the traditional royal colour of Purple, thus reminding us that Jesus is King and that he died at Easter for our salvation.
The images in this post are of the Altar, draped in Purple, at St. Michael and All Angels Church, Welshampton.
