Discussing the Christmas story with my son, who is a Doctor of Astrophysics, he told me that stars do not move. They are a fixture in the Universe. However, he also told me that Heroditus, the Roman historian who lived at the time of Jesus’ birth, recorded that at the time a light appeared in the sky moving from East to West. It could be seen on clear nights above Judea. This was almost certainly a comet and would attract attention.
Food for thought indeed!
