Commonwealth War Graves, Cockshutt Churchyard

Cockshutt War Memorial and CWGC Sign

Many of you will have noticed the sign which has recently been placed on the wall in front of the War Memorial by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC). Quite simply it is a silent but dignified testimony to the two servicemen from Cockshutt who died in both World Wars.

Across Britain, there are 300,000 war graves and the CWGC is working hard raising awareness of these burials.

Our two servicemen are: Thomas Edward Townsend (WW1) and Eric Herbert Parker (WW2).

You can read Thomas’s story along with all those named on the Cockshutt War Memorial who fell in The Great War on www.reallives.blog

We Will Remember Them.
