Coffee Morning Friendship

A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.  Proverbs 27.9

Ss Simon and Jude looking on.

As we enjoyed another morning of coffee (or tea!) cakes and chat, Ss Simon and Jude Church felt gently alive; waking from its long slumber.

Greeted as we were by the wonderful smell of hot coffee and the chink of tea cups, we then had the difficult (but wonderful) decision to make; which, from the amazing array of delectable home-made cakes to indulge in!  As it was, many of us just had to go back for seconds!

As we sat with friends old and new, in the peace and tranquillity of the Church, gently watched over by our Patronal Saints, our conversations covered everything and anything as we shared laughter and gladness over happy things, sadness and compassion over unhappy things.

With Harvest just around the corner, the Sales Table was dedicated to Plants and Produce; both of which were snapped up.  With so many Bramley Apples, I have a feeling that Apple Crumble may well be served in many households over the next few days!

As always, the raffle and “Choose the Square” board game, were good fun; lots of banter and the bonus of some delightful prizes.

Generous and selfless, our guests donated a further £156.00 towards our current fundraising project; The Armistice Centenary Commemorations and War Memorial Fund.

A very, very big thank you to all; Ss Simon & Jude are surely quietly nodding in agreement!

It was a fabulous morning, a constant flow of people and I (the Vicar) was kept busy with what I do best – chatting to people from the village. Thank you to all those who helped in any way! xxx
